This is a list of instructions for you to follow if you are having a
liver biopsy performed by Dr. Bhandari.
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight.
You may however, take any prescribed medication with a sip of water.
Take your morning medications, if any, with a small sip of water.
If you take BLOOD THINNERS (Coumadin, Plavix, Trental, Heparin),
Please notify our office at least seven days prior to your procedure.
Be sure to take your Blood Pressure,
Seizure or Heart medications
If you are a Diabetic, take half of your
usual dose the morning of your test.
Bring a list of your medications with you including the dose
and frequency in which you take them.
Bring someone to drive you home. You will be here 2 to 3 hours
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask the Doctor, GI nurse, or the technician.
