Dr. Bhandari's affiliation with Labcorp
of America means that any blood work that is required is done
right in the office when you come for your appointment. This saves patients
time and eliminates the inconvenience of having to go to an outside lab.
Dr. Bhandari is also affiliated with GI
Pathology Partners. Any tissue samples taken during procedures are sent
to these highly trained pathologists who only deal with diseases of the gastrointestinal
system. The benefit to patients is the highest accuracy in the diagnosis of GI
disease and the subsequent, quicker and proper intervention.
Dr. Bhandari is one of the very few physicians in the United States who is also
Board Certified in Nutrition. The purpose of the American Board of Nutrition
is to improve the quality of medical care by developing standards to insure that
a certified physician in nutrition possesses the knowledge, skills, and attitude
essential to the provision of excellent care. Research has shown that nutrition
can either heal or cause disease in susceptible people. In addition to physical
well-being, proper mental activity is closely intertwined with the food we eat.
Good nutrition leads to higher
energy levels,
better health and a longer life.
Healthcare in this country is shifting its focus from a curative approach to prevention and wellness. This is achieved through new trends in nutrition. This is Dr. Bhandari's basic principle in treating patients with intestinal diseases. Not only does he use innovative endoscopic and medical therapies, he also tries to design nutritional programs for patients to treat intestinal diseases. Each patient is treated as an individual. Dr. Bhandari designs a nutritional and therapeutic plan to meet the individual's needs.
Dr. Bhandari is also an educator in the community. He is involved in several programs throughout Northeast Louisiana and Southern Arkansas to educate other physicians and the public and on the latest advances in gastroenterology. He also organizes health fairs for the community on digestive disorders (example: Hepatitis-C screening and colon cancer screening). He appears on television, and writes numerous newspaper articles to enhance public awareness of common digestive diseases and preventative measures. He is involved in numerous clinical research projects, that are performed around the country, to help discover new and modern treatments for complicated diseases, such as Hepatitis-C, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis.

Endoscopic procedures are common, safe, and valuable medical procedures when performed by a specially trained physician. Endoscopy procedures, such as screening colonoscopies, have been proven to save lives.
Dr. Bhandari regularly attends medical conferences and seminars to keep up with the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in digestive diseases.
